Core Curriculum
The mission of the Core Curriculum is to provide education on the core fundamental knowledge essential for educators in the field of standardized patient methodology. The curriculum will include central themes and concepts that are evident and essential globally for executing successful programs. The Core Curriculum is not intended to be the definitive approach but is intended to make educators aware of a successful method of implementation and growth.
Eight modules have been developed for the Core Curriculum. They are:
- Foundations of Methodology
- Case and Checklist Development
- Recruitment and Training of SPs
- Using SPs for Instruction
- Assessment
- Administering an SP Program
- Basics of Research/Scholarship
- Special Topics
These modules will be delivered to the ASPE membership through presentations at the annual conference and through webinars.
