ASPE Conference Scholarship

Purpose

In keeping with ASPE's vision to provide professional growth for members, we've created the ASPE Conference Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to help underwrite conference fees for those members whose abstracts for posters, workshops or other presentations have been accepted for the upcoming ASPE annual meeting.  The funds are meant to be available for those members who need some financial support to attend the conference.

Eligibility

All ASPE members who have abstracts accepted for the upcoming ASPE annual Meeting are eligible to be considered for a scholarship award.

Criteria

Members must select an area of scholarship for the abstract submitted. The areas of scholarship (as defined by the AAMC) are:

  1. Teaching- any activity that fosters learning, including direct teaching to students or SPs and creation of associated instructional materials.
  2. Curriculum- longitudinal set of designed curriculum (more than one session or presentation) that includes evaluation.
  3. Advising and mentoring- for professional development of learners, SPs or peers; developmental relationships that encompass a spectrum of activities.
  4. Educational leadership and administration- transformation of organizations through leadership.
  5. Learner assessment- defined as all activities associated with measuring learner’s knowledge, skills and attitudes. Needs to include development, implementation, analysis and interpretation of result.

Review Process

  1. Abstracts will be processed per protocol.
  2. The pool of abstracts that are accepted will then be identified as to whether the author has requested scholarship funds.

    4. Letter of support from supervisor
